About
Travel information, not travel sales.
Airfare Service exists to answer the questions you have before you book — and the ones that come up at the airport.
Most travel sites are shops. Their job is to get you to a checkout. Ours isn't: we don't sell tickets, we don't take commissions on the flights we show, and the tools on this site exist to help you understand a trip — how far it is, what documents you'll need, whether your flight is on time, what the news means for your fare.
Airfare Service is published by Oceanic Travel LLC, a California-registered travel company based in Long Beach. Our sister site, bestcruising.com, is where we do sell travel — cruises and packages — under California Seller of Travel registration. Keeping the two separate is deliberate: information here, bookings there.
Where the data comes from
- Flight status from airline operational feeds via AeroDataBox and aviationstack.
- Fares and destinations from Aviasales via Travelpayouts — the cheapest fares found in recent searches. Links to live searches are affiliate links; if you book through one we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.
- Entry requirements from Sherpa, which licenses the same data to airlines for check-in checks.
- Routes and distances are calculated by us from airport coordinates.
- News is aggregated from publishers' public feeds; we show headlines and excerpts and link to the original.
All of it can change without notice. For anything that would ruin a trip if wrong — visas, passport validity, baggage limits — confirm with the airline or the official government source. We link to them on every relevant page.
